Sports and adult beverages go hand-in-hand with sport fans. Actually, beer is the favorite beverage to enjoy sports, whether in person or on TV, but this relationship leaves a major environmental issue. An estimate of 65 million people attend sport events and generate around 39 pounds of trash per year. This trash comes mostly from the containers of food and drinks consumed.
As part of the Heineken sustainability program, Brewing a Better Future, we use the same passion that lead sports fans to watch sports, to encourage them to recycle Heineken containers, by asking them to give their bottles to their favorite teams and fill their stadium's with special seats made of recycled materials to cheer for their teams with a bigger purpose.
